Pantanal
An immense flooded plain covering parts of Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay.
In the Wet Season, this area is flooded by the overflow from its rivers: this is when there is an explosion of colors in its rich aquatic flora with mammals concentrated
on the few mound hills. In the Dry Season, lakes are formed that provide a source
of food for an enormous variety of animals including migratory birds from all over the World. Hosting 700 species of birds among a lot of other animals, Pantanal has one
of the largest diversities of wildlife in the whole of the Americas.
Diversified itineraries according to the season, with boat sightseeing, horse
back riding, hiking, night and terrestrial safaris in privileged location of the Low and of the High Pantanal with naturalist guides for an excellent wildlife observation.

Access
The best time to observe the animals are in the early morning and at late afternoon. Therefore, to make the most of the trip, we prefer accommodation only accessed by private ways, that is situated further away from the main road and from inconvenience of passing cars and the noise and dust they bring.

Transpantaneira
The 'Pantanal of Poconé' is the Pantanal of the cattle activity, on enormous ranches.
Its inhabitant is the 'pantaneiro man' whom, living long distances away and in huge isolation, is responsible for an unique culture, in straight harmony with Nature.
Built on the 70th, the Transpantaneira is a park-road whose artificial course crosses the most diversified habitats, allowing the observation of the most varied fauna.
The Pantanal is divided into eleven sub-regions each of which has its own particular characteristics in terms of soil, climate and vegetation.
Being difficult to visit them all, they are generalized into:

The High Pantanal
Rivers with defined courses with gallery forest; aquatic birds such as Egrets and Herons and animals such as Caimans, Otters and Capybaras; the best way to explore is by boat, specially in the Dry Season;

The Low Pantanal
Seasonally flooded land, mound hills known as 'capões' are the shelter for mammals, specially in the Wet Season. Palm trees provide food supply to the rare Hyacinth Macaws, Toucans, Monkeys; the best way to explore is by horse back riding.
